Flight Nerd Air Force is led by Ben Johnson an FAA Advanced Ground Instructor, private pilot, and A&P mechanic who has loved aviation since childhood.

Growing up around model airplanes, Air Force stories, and summers spent watching aircraft descend on Oshkosh’s world-famous AirVenture, Ben developed a lifelong passion for flying.

He pursued aviation in college, trained in bush flying, earned his mechanic certificates, and later served as a chaplain in the Air Force Reserve and Wisconsin Air National Guard experiences that deepened his love for aviation and community.

Today, Flight Nerd Air Force is where Ben brings those passions together to help new and aspiring pilots learn, grow, and find a supportive community. Whether you're just starting your private pilot journey or looking for the right ground school, you’re welcome here.
